A clinical research is a scientific study of drug development process designed for improving health.
A clinical research is carried out before releasing the medicines in the market. Prior to the release
of the drug into the market a lot of trail and research has to be undertaken for which qualified
clinical researchers are required.With the increase in the number of disease clinical research is
poised to play a significant role all over the world.
- Eligibility
A graduate or a postgraduate in Life Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or physiotherapy.
- Job Profile
The job of clinical research involves implementation monitoring of clinical trails conducted in the laboratory.
- Clinical research involves four phases
Phase 1: - This is the stage when a new drug is tested on a small
group of people, say around 50.
Phase 2: - The second phase involves a larger group of around 150 to 350 people after considering the results in phase 1.
Phase 3: - In phase 3 studies are performed on larger group of patients depending upon the kind of medical condition that is being studied.
Phase 4: - The last phase involves the safety and ongoing technical support of a drug after it receives the permission to be sold. In this phase there are even larger numbers of patient who are involved for a longer period.
