Retail Management is a professional programme which prepares a graduate to enter into the field of Retailing.

steady rise in demand for retail managers. Retail management involves the distribution

more organized and efficient. The retail revolution has changed not just the urban

retail management, students have to pass a number of entrance tests. The
curriculum on retail management include subjects like supply chain management,
marketing information, finance management, accounting in retail etc. Students also
learn about sales promotion and techniques to attract customers.
After completing the course in retail management a person can work as a
manager in malls or multiplexes. A store manager is a person who is responsible
for everyday activity of a retail store or supermarket. The employees have to
report directly to the store manager. He has to keep a balance between the
demand and supply of the products in his store. He has to keep a track in
such a way that there is neither shortage nor oversupply of the products.
Retail managers supervise and work with the sales team and are in charge
of the day-to-day details and have to ensure that the store opens on time.
Sometimes they have to deal directly with the customers and solve their
problems and queries.
A retail management course from reputed career institutes may fetch a
dream job. Once you gain experience the pay packet increases
considerably. Being a retail manager can be quite stressful sometimes
but they are well compensated. According to a survey there is a demand
for 1.25 million retail personnel, and is estimated to go up to 3.25 million
by the year 2008-09.
