Plumbing Programs
Pipelayers, plumbers, pipefitters, and steamfitters who work for nonresidential
enterprises are usually trained through formal apprenticeship programs. Most residential and industrial
plumbers get their training in career and technical schools and community colleges and from on-the-job
training. Job opportunities are expected to be very good, as demand for skilled pipelayers, plumbers,
pipefitters, and steamfitters is expected to outpace the supply of workers well trained in this craft in
some areas.
